Staff incentives are considered essential by some companies but leave others dubious. After all, if members of staff aren’t going to put their best into their job anyway, will an incentive scheme really make that much difference? There is a lot of research to show that actually, staff incentives can make a big difference to productivity and performance. It is something to seriously consider if you manage a team or own a company.
It is the job of every manager to make sure their staff are happy. Think of it this way – you staff might well want to be at work and they may love their job. However, it is a two-way street and giving someone a job is not enough nowadays. Good, hardworking staff won’t stick around if they feel undervalued. Incentives are a good way to show your staff you value them and you appreciate all the hard work they put in.
